Our team doesn’t perform laser eye surgeries at our practice, but we offer assistance throughout the surgical process. We provide laser eye surgery consultations and support after your surgery.
We’ll determine your eligibility for laser eye surgery during a comprehensive eye exam where we explain the risks and benefits of the different surgical options. Our team can then refer you to a trusted surgeon who will complete your procedure.
After your surgery is complete, we can schedule follow-up appointments. These appointments help us check that your eyes are healing well and allow us to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Our team is here to provide quality pre- and post-surgical care.
Different surgeries exist today to help patients improve their sight without needing glasses or contact lenses. We can determine your eligibility for these surgeries during a consultation. We’ll complete an eye exam and discuss the different surgeries in detail.
We offer consultations for LASIK and PRK surgery. These surgical options involve accessing the inner cornea to correct your refractive error with a specialized laser.
Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, commonly known as LASIK, is a popular laser eye surgery. It’s typically completed in 30 minutes or less, helping you see more clearly.
During the procedure, your surgeon cuts a small flap into the cornea to access its inner layers. They remove precise amounts of corneal tissue with a specialized laser to help correct your refractive error. After reshaping the cornea, they lay the flap in its original position.
Photorefractive keratectomy, PRK for short, is surgery for correcting refractive errors. Your surgeon completes a similar procedure to LASIK, but they use a different approach to reach the inner cornea.
Your surgeon removes the entire outer layer of the cornea, known as the epithelium. They then gently reshape the cornea to correct your refractive error. After reshaping the cornea, your surgeon covers the eye with a specialized bandage to protect it as it heals and the epithelium recovers.
